Songbird Restaurant & Bar is a modern dining destination in the heart of Canary Wharf, offering a refined menu that celebrates flavour, quality, and creativity. Our kitchen team focuses on premium ingredients, precision cooking, and seamless service — delivering memorable dining experiences every time.

We\’re now seeking an Experienced Grill Chef to join our talented brigade and take charge of our grill section during busy service periods.

Key responsibilities include:

Preparing and cooking meats, fish, and vegetables to exact specifications
Maintaining high standards of seasoning, presentation, and portion control
Managing the grill section efficiently during service
Monitoring temperatures, equipment, and food safety at all times
Assisting with prep, stock rotation, and section setup
Working collaboratively with the team to ensure smooth service
Maintaining cleanliness and organisation in your section and throughout the kitchen

About You

You\’re a skilled, passionate chef with strong experience on the grill in a quality restaurant or brasserie environment. You take pride in your craft, stay calm under pressure, and value teamwork.

You Will Have:

Minimum 2–3 years\’ experience in a professional kitchen (grill or similar role)
Strong knowledge of cooking techniques, cuts of meat, and temperature control
A commitment to quality, speed, and consistency
Excellent communication and teamwork skills
Understanding of food hygiene and safety standards (Level 2 Food Safety preferred)
The right to work in the UK
