This Deputy Store Manager position is based in our Northcote Road store, is full time (40 hours) and is available to start in approximately 4 weeks.

The Role

Our Deputy Managers are a driving force in our stores. Partnering with the wider management team they deliver on their locations broad range of KPI’s, engaging and inspiring their teams with their well-honed commercial acumen. As a Deputy Manager at Trotters, you will be an impactful second-in-command, supporting the Location Manager by leveraging our 4 pillars of retail excellence to ensure the ongoing success of the location and team, and drive performance in their absence.

Main Responsibilities

  • Work in partnership with the Location Manager and the wider management team to ensure achievement of your Location’s performance targets and KPI’s across our 4 pillars.
  • Support the LM in driving excellent team participation, contribution & engagement, making recommendations on initiatives to inspire them to achieve excellence.
  • Maintain excellent knowledge of your location, interpreting, analysing, and delivering against location commercials and KPI's through Trotters best practice.
  • Ensure teams effectively capture customer data at POS and understand how this transforms customer relationship management; impart your understanding of local market, customer profiles and shopping behaviour onto team members to maximise sales and increase customer loyalty.
  • Nurture a dynamic sales environment, coaching team members to deliver a natural approach to sales using the Trotters Touch.
  • Make use of commercial tools to manage performance enhancing Product and VM floor moves, liaising with Management to execute; keep Trotters looking its best through up-to-date knowledge of Merchandising, replenishment and housekeeping best-practice to ensure the highest standards of presentation for your Location.
  • Role-model and coach team on comprehensive product knowledge - particularly current season and iconic products, alongside specialised services such as shoe-fitting and Hairdressing.
  • Develop and coach the team with a flexible but consistent approach to differing people and situations, confidently feeding back on team performance to the Manager and Regional Manager when required.
  • Commit to continuous personal and team training & development, utilising cascaded resources to keep up to date with current business focuses.
  • Proactively resolve recruitment needs within the store, partnering with the Manager to attract, select and engage and onboard dynamic and driven team members.
  • Ensure team adherence to store administration, systems, and processes within our operational guidelines, drawing on excellent organisation skills and a competent knowledge and understanding of company business systems such as Quinyx and Eurostop.
  • Protect the assets of the Business by ensuring the location meets the required Company standard and legal compliance in Health & Safety, Maintenance and Loss Prevention.

  • Strong numerical capability - handy for reporting purposes as well as confidently walking customers through pricing, percentages, and promos.
  • Retail sales expertise, able to influence customer behaviour through elevated service, excellent product knowledge and consistent brand awareness.
