We are working with a leading manufacturing organisation committed to excellence in quality, efficiency, and continuous improvement. Operating from a 100,000+ sq. ft. advanced production facility, they specialise in the manufacture of engineered industrial components. The facility incorporates end-to-end capabilities including research and development, manufacturing, sales, quality control, testing, warehousing, and distribution. They are currently entering an exciting phase of expansion and are seeking an experienced Production professional to strengthen our shopfloor leadership team. This is a hands‑on leadership position.
You will be actively involved in day‑to‑day production activities, supporting teams, solving problems, and ensuring operations run safely, efficiently, and to plan. You will supervise, coordinate, and support production operatives across multiple lines, ensuring output, quality, and delivery targets are consistently achieved.
Key Responsibilities- Lead, motivate, and develop production operatives
- Promote high standards of performance, discipline, and teamwork
- Oversee shift start‑ups, shutdowns, and changeovers
- Carry out first‑line fault finding and support rapid issue resolution
- Ensure full compliance with health & safety procedures
- Maintain adherence to quality standards and HACCP requirements
- Promote a strong safety‑first culture on the shopfloor
- Drive lean manufacturing initiatives
- Identify opportunities to reduce waste and improve efficiency
- Produce accurate daily shift and production reports
- Communicate performance, issues, and improvement actions effectively
- Proven experience as a Production / Manufacturing Supervisor or Shift Manager within a manufacturing environment
- Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills
- Hands‑on experience in manufacturing processes (e.g. assembly, FMCG, sheet metal or similar)
- Strong problem‑solving and decision‑making ability under pressure
- Competent in MS Office (Excel, Word) and MRP systems
