We’re supporting a well-established manufacturing business in the East Lancashire area as they look to appoint a commercially minded Finance Manager due to retirement. This isn’t just a desk-based role — you’ll be a key partner to operational teams, occasionally visiting additional sites to support month-end processes, improve reporting accuracy, and provide meaningful financial insight.

As Finance Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the financial operations of a manufacturing company, ensuring accurate financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and compliance with financial regulations. This role involves working as part of a team, providing strategic financial guidance to the senior management team, monitoring company performance, and supporting cost control initiatives to drive profitability and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and present accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual statements.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax regulations, and internal company policies.
  • Assist in the preparation of Budgets.
  • Coordinate external audits and manage the relationship with auditors.
  • Analyse costs, identifying areas for improvement and cost reduction.
  • Implement cost control measures across operations, including inventory management, procurement, and production processes.
  • Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) relevant to performance and efficiency.
  • Supervise and mentor the wider finance team, fostering a culture of continuous learning and development.
About You
  • Part, fully qualified or QBE considered.
  • Experience within a manufacturing or product-based environment is preferred.
  • Sage 200 experience highly desirable.
  • Strong management accounting and month-end experience.
  • Confident communicator, comfortable working with non-finance stakeholders.
  • Willingness to travel regularly to multiple UK sites.
  • Proactive, hands-on, and solutions-focused approach.
