An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Private Funds lawyer to join a highly regarded and growing investment funds practice in London. This role forms part of the team's continued strategic growth and offers the opportunity to work on a broad range of high-value private funds matters for an impressive client base of fund managers, institutional investors and private capital sponsors. The successful candidate will join a collaborative and entrepreneurial team with a strong market reputation and a genuinely international practice. The team is recognised as a prominent adviser within the private capital market, acting for fund sponsors, asset managers and institutional investors across a broad range of investment strategies. The practice advises on the establishment, structuring and operation of private investment funds across multiple asset classes, including:

The team acts for clients ranging from emerging managers launching first-time funds through to established international institutions and asset managers. In addition to sponsor-side mandates, the team regularly advises investors on fund investments, co-investments and strategic private capital transactions.

The team is continuing to expand and is keen to speak with experienced private funds lawyers looking to take the next step in their career. Responsibilities will include:

  • Advising on the structuring, formation and operation of private investment funds.
  • Drafting and negotiating core fund documentation, including LPAs, PPMs, subscription documents and side letters.
  • Managing fund formation transactions from launch through to final closing.
  • Advising fund sponsors on ongoing operational, governance and regulatory matters.
  • Supporting investor-side mandates and strategic private capital transactions.
  • Developing and maintaining strong client relationships.
  • Supervising and mentoring junior lawyers.
  • Contributing to business development initiatives, market engagement and thought leadership.

Suitable candidates are likely to have:

  • At least 5 years' post-qualification experience gained within a recognised private funds practice.
  • Strong experience advising on private fund formation matters.
  • Excellent drafting and technical skills across core fund documentation.
