A long-established business in the Burnley area is looking for someone experienced in accounts receivable and purchase ledger to join their team as an Accounts Assistant on a permanent basis. This is a fast-paced role that is based full-time in the office.

As working as part of the finance team, you will support with all credit control and purchase ledger responsibilities alongside other accounts assistants, helping cover other roles during busy times and times of absence.

Responsibilities:

  • Processing sales and purchase invoices accurately within the finance system
  • Chasing outstanding payments and managing customer account queries
  • Allocating customer payments and reconciling debtor accounts
  • Reconciling supplier statements and resolving invoice discrepancies
  • Preparing BACS payment runs and maintaining purchase ledger records
  • Supporting month-end activities including reconciliations and reporting
  • Liaising with customers, suppliers and internal departments to resolve queries
  • Assisting with general finance administration and maintaining accurate records

Benefits:

  • Monday – Thursday 8.30am – 5pm | Friday 8.30am – 3.30pm
  • 28 days holiday inc. bank holidays
  • 1 additional annual leave day each year after 12 months service, up to 33 days including bank holidays
