We’re looking for a Warehouse & Export Manager to lead the day-to-day running of our warehouse, making sure everything operates safely, smoothly and efficiently, while taking ownership of our international export and customs processes.

You’ll lead and develop our warehouse team, creating a well-organised environment where everyone knows what great looks like and has what they need to do their best work. Alongside the day-to-day operation, you’ll manage the detail behind our international shipments, making sure export documentation, customs requirements and compliance are accurate, up to date and completed on time. This is a hands-on role for someone who loves making things run brilliantly, enjoys leading and developing people, and has a great eye for detail. You’ll be equally comfortable out on the warehouse floor as you are getting into the detail of processes, paperwork and compliance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the day-to-day running of the warehouse, while building an operation that can grow and evolve with Tropic.
  • Lead and develop the warehouse team, creating a positive, high-performing environment where people can do their best work.
  • Maintain a safe working environment, ensuring health and safety regulations and current HSEQ guidance are consistently followed, including regular inspections of working areas.
  • Ensure safety, quality, environmental and budgetary targets are achieved.
  • Develop and implement warehouse policies, procedures, and process improvements to optimise operational efficiency and productivity.
  • Maintain accurate warehouse documentation and records, ensuring information is always up to date and audit-ready.
  • Monitor inventory levels and maintain accurate stock records through regular cycle counts and audits.
  • Lead the warehouse requirements for the year-end financial audit, ensuring stock records, counts and supporting documentation are accurate and readily available.
  • Use data and insights from our warehouse management systems to identify opportunities to improve performance and ways of working.
  • Work closely with teams across Tropic to keep warehouse operations running smoothly.
  • Partner with our Manufacturing and Supply teams to maintain a smooth flow of stock and high levels of inventory accuracy.

Exports

  • Own the international export process end-to-end, from documentation and customs declarations through to ensuring compliance with UK, EU and international trade regulations.
  • Manage relationships with freight forwarders, couriers and customs brokers, ensuring shipments move efficiently and issues are resolved quickly.
  • Ensure the correct use of Incoterms and the accurate completion of commercial invoices, certificates of origin and all other required shipping documentation.

Team & People

  • Build and grow the warehouse team as the operation develops, recruiting and onboarding brilliant people when needed.
  • Lead by example, creating a positive, collaborative and accountable team culture.
  • Coach, train and develop the team, helping people build their skills and perform at their best.
  • Set clear objectives for direct reports and regularly review progress and performance.
  • Manage performance, attendance and, where required, formal people processes in line with Tropic’s policies and procedures.
  • Create a safety-first culture where everyone takes ownership for maintaining a safe, organised and efficient working environment.

What We’re Looking For

  • Proven experience building and leading a fast-moving warehouse team, ideally including forklift/Flexi truck operations.
  • Hands-on experience with export documentation and international shipping compliance.
  • Comfortable using warehouse/ERP systems (NetSuite experience a plus).
  • Strong people management skills — recruitment, performance, and day-to-day leadership.
  • Good working knowledge of Incoterms and customs procedures.
