About the Role

Working as part of the plant management team, in the role of the Production Supervisor you will be responsible for pro-actively leading an operations team to ensure safe and environmentally correct work practices. You will be responsible for your teams’ compliance to relevant company legislative safety, health and environmental regulations and targets. You will also play a key role in any emergency response activities. You will focus on continuously improving the competence of shift personnel through identification of development needs, planning and implementation of training programmes and provision of effective mentoring and coaching, to increase flexibility and support long term succession planning. You will monitor your shift team activities to ensure production, cost and qualities targets are met, whilst focusing on continuous improvement and cost reduction initiatives. In this role you will support the delivery of the site’s strategic plan, advocating our culture change journey and will be responsible for driving positive change and improvement initiatives.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Executes the production plan for the shift, producing required SQLCT according to production / maintenance schedule
  • Delivers real time results by following the SIC and WMS Standards
  • Participate, audit and improve meetings, as required by the OE&R process
  • Makes decisions on schedule-breaking work when the coordinator is not available
  • Liaise with Logistics team as required to ensure out of hours service is maintained
  • Manage incidents, emergency response and investigations within team and participates in significant incident investigations and RCAs
  • Responsible for regulatory statutory compliance
  • Co-ordination and scheduling of team activities including - final selection, training, performance appraisal, discipline, safety and grievance procedures
  • Drives the effective and timely turnaround of production equipment during scheduled maintenance
  • Assisting with break in work management as required
  • Part of gatekeeping team responsible for review and verification of maintenance notifications
  • Act as line of communication between the day and shift teams
  • Provides basic production team trouble shooting assistance
  • Maintaining, reviewing & updating SOPs and MPIs relating to the relevant process area
  • Monitoring chemical stock levels and ensuring sufficient stocks levels for continued production
  • Supports site shutdown process by ensuring equipment can be made available, and reviewing sequencing of shutdown timings
  • Completion of tank taping duties
  • Recording of plant downtime and curtailment data
  • Perform other reasonable duties as requested by the Operations Manager
  • Satisfy the requirements of the role under Pressure Systems Safety Regulations (PSSR) as detailed in the Stallingborough site safety instruction SHEI-2C-6

About You:

The ideal candidate is friendly, energetic, professional, flexible, and well-rounded individual with a strong ability to deal with a constantly changing environment. The successful candidate will also have the following skills, experience and qualifications:

  • Demonstrable practical operations experience
  • Demonstrable technical understanding of plant chemical processes and unit operations relevant to the process area
  • Experience of working within the chemical manufacturing industry, including work in top tier COMAH areas.
  • Good working knowledge of key business processes and tools, such as Operating disciplines, MOWP, MoC, SAP, PI.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact at all levels of the organisation
  • Certificate/Diploma in leadership/management or working towards
  • Line management experience within a continuous manufacturing process environment
  • Knowledge of relevant Health, Safety & Environmental legislation (COMAH, IPPC), emergency response practices and ability to participate in structured investigations RCA, PHA etc.
