Collision Investigator (England)

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Forensic Collision Investigator to join our team at TRL. This role involves in-depth investigations into road collisions, including those resulting in fatalities and serious injuries. The nature of this work requires resilience, attention to detail, and a strong understanding of the UK legal system.

The successful candidate can be based UK wide with some travel expected. Flexible working options for full or part-time employment is available. Due to the long-term nature of Expert Witness responsibilities, applicants must have long-term residency in the UK.

Key Responsibilities

• Investigate road collisions and vehicle-related incidents.
• Prepare and deliver high-quality forensic reports for public and private sector clients.
• Present evidence in Civil and Criminal Courts.
• Maintain strong client relationships and provide expert advice.

Essential Skills & Experience

• Qualifications and/or experience in collision investigation and vehicle examination including video analysis.
• Strong knowledge of forensic collision principles and legal processes.
• Attention to detail with excellent written and verbal communication skills including producing and providing feedback on technical reports.
• Experience presenting evidence in Court.
• Full UK driving licence.

Desirable

• Relevant qualifications such as a degree in physics, engineering or biomechanics.
• Experience retrieving and analysing vehicle electronic data (EDRs, telematics).
• Knowledge of inspecting electric vehicles and related safety protocols.
• An interest in injury causation.
