About the Roles Join us as a Junior Pavement Engineer in our Assets Advisory team, contributing to pavement engineering, materials, design, maintenance, and asset management. This role will support TRLs consultancy practice, contributing to projects that address key transport challenges through research, analysis, and strategic advisory. This is an opportunity to be part of a growing team that works across multidisciplinary projects, delivering innovative solutions for both commercial and government clients. The successful candidates will be based at TRL Headquarters in Wokingham, Berkshire or Woolwich, London, and we welcome flexible and hybrid working arrangements. Key Responsibilities Support a variety of research and consultancy projects undertaken in the area of pavement engineering including: Analysis and interpretation of data for research and consultancy projects. Production of preliminary and detailed pavement design solutions. Technical report writing. Work with senior staff to identify and develop proposals for new project opportunities and funding. Skills & Experience A degree in a STEM field such as Pavement Engineering, Civil Engineering with a focus on pavements, Transport and/or relevant experience in a consultancy environment with applied research in a related field pertaining to pavement engineering. A commercial and customer-oriented mindset, with experience in delivering client-centric solutions. Ability to clearly communicate complex ideas, both verbally and in writing, to a wide range of audiences. A proactive, problem-solving attitude with enthusiasm for continuous learning and development. Ability to work collaboratively across teams, contributing to both the success of individual projects and broader company goals.
