Trizo Ltd are an industry-leading electrical manufacturing company based in Bridgwater, Somerset. A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Surface Mount (SMT) Team Leader to join the business and support the day-to-day running of the SMT production line. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting with the operation of the SMT production line while ensuring production targets and quality standards are met.
The role involves setting up, programming, and operating Surface Mount Technology (SMT) machines, Automated Optical Inspection (AOI) machines, and reflow ovens, alongside maintaining quality control and production processes. This position also involves supervising a team of 3–4 operators, ensuring productivity, accuracy, and high standards of workmanship within the SMT department. Success in this role means maintaining efficient production output, supporting continuous improvement in SMT productivity, and helping the team meet company production and quality targets.
Responsibilities- Assist with the day-to-day running of the SMT production line
- Set up, program, and operate SMT and AOI machines
- Operate and profile reflow ovens
- Ensure the correct and safe use of printing equipment, reflow ovens, and AOI machines
- Carry out general running and maintenance of Surface Mount machines
- Maintain quality control standards throughout the production process
- Meet company production and quality targets
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of SMT productivity
- Work to tight deadlines while maintaining a high level of accuracy
- Maintain general housekeeping of the SMT production process
- Supervise and support a team of 3–4 operators
- Minimum 1 year of experience within an SMT production environment
- Experience managing or supervising a team of operators within an SMT production area
- SMT experience is required, although further training will be provided to support knowledge gaps
- Experience working in a manufacturing environment is preferred
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Self‑motivated, reliable, conscientious, and hardworking
- Ability to work to tight deadlines with a high level of accuracy
- Salary: Negotiable, with the possibility of a relocation package for the right candidate
- Hours: Monday–Thursday 8:00am–5:00pm, Friday 8:00am–2:30pm
- Uniform: Trizo provides ESD shoes and company T‑shirts
