Provide therapeutic support through individual, group, and community programming to support and promote clients’ treatment goals, adhering to clinical best practices through services and documentation.

Essential Duties

  1. Oversee all therapeutic activity programming, including individual, group, and community activities. Collaborate with colleagues to maintain a consistent schedule of residential activities, ensuring staffing, supplies, facilities, and communication are appropriate. Develop programming considering resident needs and treatment goals.
  2. Support and supervise staff facilitating programming to ensure quality and alignment with client needs and mission. Provide training and skill development to staff.
  3. Collaborate with team members to promote participation in programming.
  4. Offer individualized skills support to clients, developing and maintaining alliances to support progress. Assess client needs and monitor changes collaboratively.
  5. Create individualized recovery plans within a person-centered model, reviewing them regularly to ensure quality care.
  6. Provide direct counseling to residents, supporting their therapeutic goals, and maintaining working alliances. Assess needs and collaborate on necessary changes.
  7. Build relationships with residents’ natural support systems, providing education, support, and assisting with discharge planning.
  8. Lead groups and activities using evidence-based practices, continuously developing therapeutic groups within residential programming.
  9. Design and implement programming focused on skill development and quality of life, including activities like healthy eating, exercise, ADLs, social and community engagement.
  10. Collaborate with Clinical Team members to enhance clinical services and facilitate therapeutic programming.
  11. Maintain documentation in electronic health records, including contacts and services provided.
  12. Develop relationships with clients’ support systems, providing education and support related to client goals.
  13. Support organizational policies and communicate effectively within the organization.
  14. Foster positive staff relationships and participate in meetings, projects, and organizational duties.
  15. Support the organization’s mission and collaborate on system development to improve practices.
  16. Work with community groups to develop programming and address residents’ needs outside the organization.
  17. Interpret and apply rules, policies, procedures, and standards consistently.
  18. Communicate clearly both verbally and in writing and establish effective professional relationships.
  19. Identify issues and develop effective corrective actions, working with team members to resolve problems.
  20. Perform duties under supervision of the Clinical Manager and other leadership as assigned, maintaining consistent attendance.
  21. Perform other duties as assigned.

  8. Maintain confidentiality and professionalism.
  9. Hold a Chauffer’s license or equivalent and maintain an acceptable driving record.

Physical Demands

Must talk and hear frequently, sit, use hands and fingers, handle keyboards, and occasionally stand, walk, reach, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Close vision required. Travel between locations and attend seminars occasionally.

Working Conditions

Normal office environment, with noise levels usually quiet to moderate. Occasional weekend or evening work based on needs.

Requirements/Qualifications

  1. Master’s Degree in counseling.
  2. Experience in mental health treatment and programming.
  3. Strong knowledge of emotional, behavioral, mental health, and substance abuse issues relevant to the population.
  4. Experience with various service modalities emphasizing evidence-based practices.
