Reporting to the Project Lead – Strategy and Service Integration, the Transport Integration Manager will join an integrated Security and Transport team and will play a key role in supporting the planning, integration, and delivery of venue transport operations for the Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games at Competition Venues. Working closely with multiple functional areas, venue teams, and external stakeholders and suppliers, the role ensures that venue transport operations are fully integrated into operational plans and delivered during Games Time.
This position is ideal for an experienced event professional who has strong event transport related planning and delivery skills, ideally within a multi-sport or major event environment.
Working arrangements: The role will commence in the Organising Company’s Glasgow city centre office, with visits required to competition venues to fully deliver the responsibilities of the role. The location for the role will transition to be based at a competition venue as we approach the Games. The role will be contracted for 40 hours per week, with requirements to be in the office aligned to the Organising Company's planned working pattern. All travel to your place of work will be at your own cost. During the Games operational period, shift patterns are likely to be required which could include weekends.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead venue transport across the Glasgow 2026 Competition venues and act as the Transport integration lead for the EDP Security and Transport functional area, liaising with key FA’s (e.g. OC Transport Team, Venue Management, Overlay, City Operations, Venue and Local Authority representatives).
- Finalise all venue transport planning requirements including venue transport plans, load zone operational plans, signage plans and venue parking plans.
- Ensure the integration of OC transport related contractors and their respective plans (bus and traffic management) are incorporated into the venue transport plan.
- Manage relationships with key internal and external stakeholders, ensuring all key project timelines and milestones are met.
- Support reporting, risk tracking, and issue resolution related to venue transport.
- Assist in the development of training and operational documentation for all transport contractors and staff.
- Assist with the onboarding and training of Deputy security and transport managers and transport volunteers who will fill Games Time roles.
- Fulfil a games time role as the Venue Transport Manager at one of the Glasgow 2026 Competition Venues.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise:
- Proven experience in transport, security, venue management or operations for large-scale sporting or major event.
- Strong understanding of Commonwealth Games clients and their associated transport privileges.
- Excellent communication, influencing, and coordination skills across multidisciplinary teams and client groups.
- Demonstrated experience in managing teams including those made up of contractors and volunteers.
- Experience working in fast-paced, collaborative event or project environments.
- Good knowledge of Glasgow’s transport network and its venues is desirable.
