Reporting to the People & Recruitment Manager, the People & Recruitment Deputy Manager will support with the full employee lifecycle from recruitment, onboarding, training, performance, wellbeing, and offboarding for our Event Delivery Partner (EDP) team members. This role will foster a positive and inclusive culture, ensure alignment with the Organising Company (OC) policies and standards, and deliver an exceptional workforce experience. Additional responsibilities include overseeing wellbeing and recognition initiatives and supporting post-Games employment and skills development opportunities for our team members.
Working arrangements
The role will initially be based at the Organising Company’s Glasgow city centre office, with visits to competition venues as required to support the effective delivery of responsibilities. As the Games approach, the role will transition to being primarily based at your assigned competition venue. The position is initially contracted for 37.5 hours per week (with a 30-minute lunch break), with office attendance aligned to the Organising Company’s working pattern. During the Games-time operational period, shift patterns will apply and may include evenings and weekends.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the end-to-end recruitment process for our EDP paid workforce, rapidly scaling in line with operational needs. This includes developing attraction strategies, sourcing local talent, coordinating high-volume assessment and selection processes, managing candidate pipelines, and delivering a seamless, high-quality onboarding experience.
- Support the development and implementation of People policies, processes, and documentation aligned with the project lifecycle, OC policies, Trivandi standards, and local labour legislation.
- Continuously review and refine recruitment and onboarding processes to improve efficiency, candidate experience, and operational efficiency.
- Monitor People team milestones and deliverables, maintaining accurate trackers, dashboards, and reports across recruitment, onboarding, training, and offboarding activities to ensure these are delivered on time and to a consistently high standard.
- Identify, report, and mitigate People-related risks and issues, escalating appropriately and implementing proactive solutions to minimise operational disruption.
- Foster a positive, inclusive, and values-led culture, promoting strong engagement, motivation, and retention across the team and modelling behaviours aligned with both the Organising Company’s and Trivandi’s values and expectations.
- Support with the implementation of wellbeing, support, and recognition programmes to ensure team members feel valued and supported throughout their engagement.
- Champion diversity, equity, and inclusion, ensuring recruitment and workforce practices are barrier-free and aligned with accessibility commitments, local regulations, and organisational policies.
- Build strong relationships across internal and external stakeholders, acting as the key point of contact with the OC People team to ensure integrated delivery and achievement of People objectives.
- Support with the full employee lifecycle, including wellbeing check-ins, performance conversations, contract changes, and offboarding ensuring processes are consistent, timely, and people focused.
- Collaborate closely with the Trivandi Academy team to coordinate training programmes for our team members covering induction, onboarding, and compliance training.
- Support the offboarding process, ensuring an effective and people-centred experience through recognition, feedback collection, knowledge transfer, and transition support.
- Support post-Games employment pathways and skills development opportunities for team members in partnership with Trivandi Academy.
Experience
- Significant experience in leading the planning, recruitment and onboarding of large, diverse teams for major multi-sport or multi-venue events.
- Recent familiarity with relevant employment law, safeguarding requirements, and health and safety legislation for event workforces.
