About You… The successful candidate will:

What You’ll Do… To deliver a well-managed customer focused sheltered housing service that ensures an ethos of independence and empowerment. To provide a scheme-based housing management service, ensuring effective management of vacant units, estate management and compliance with building maintenance requirements including periodic testing to meet Health and Safety requirements.

What You’ll Be Responsible For… In conjunction with other Sheltered Housing Colleagues, contribute towards delivering a customer focused housing service. Support the allocation of vacant dwellings to minimise void loss, ensuring that new tenants are fully inducted into their new home and any housing related support needs are identified. Collaborative working with outside agencies and other teams as identified. Reviewing wellbeing and personal safety plans with tenants every 6 months or sooner, making referrals for support or to other statutory services ensuring that needs are met in a manner that always respects their dignity and privacy. Make welfare calls to tenants with an assessed short-term need. Ensuring that accommodation is maintained to a high standard by monitoring compliance with gas servicing requirements, legionella controls, fire alarm testing, door entry and warden call systems and monitoring contract services delivered to the scheme, recording these for evidence and reporting purposes. Support the Sheltered and Supported Housing Manager to maintain accreditation with Erosh Code of Practice and the RNIB Visibly Better Scheme. Participate in the annual service charge meetings with tenants, answering any queries and signposting or liaising with rent account managers. Deal with and coordinate actions in response to complaints of anti-social behaviour in Sheltered Housing schemes, and where necessary work with the Community Safety Team to resolve. Support the Sheltered and Supported Housing Manager to work with tenants and their representatives to develop and sustain an effective Tenant Consultation process in line with the Sheltered Partnership Agreement. Facilitate social activities, seeking out grant funding opportunities, manage guest room lettings and TV license in line with procedures. Support colleagues in periods of absence to manage day to day activities and responsibilities to ensure continuity of service to tenants. Attend case conferences, Protection of Vulnerable Adults or similar meetings as requested, accompanying or standing in for other Sheltered Housing Officers where needed. To consult with tenants around purchasing items from the scheme ‘wish list’, ensuring value for money. Participate in the out of hours rota.
