Triumvirate Environmental, one of the largest environmental services firms in North America, is seeking a Field Technician for our Northampton, PA team. Experience is preferred but we will train the right people! The Field Technician works in a variety of settings related to construction, demolition, environmental cleanup and remediation projects. The Technician is required to perform a variety of skilled tasks related to construction type activities.

This is a full-time position. Standard days and hours of work are Monday through Friday with varying start and finish times.

Responsibilities:
  • Performs labour related functions included but not limited to shoveling, carrying, sweeping, lifting and raking.
  • Operates jackhammers, mowers, saws and other small equipment.
  • Works with and assists the crew in digging ditches and trenches, hoisting material, tools, equipment, and any related work with appropriate equipment.
  • Performs routine and safety inspections and preventive maintenance on assigned equipment and refers defects or repairs to the supervisor; cleans and decontaminates equipment.
  • Assists in the installation and maintenance of erosion control devices.
  • Performs all duties in conformance with federal, state, local and company safety, environmental and security standards.
  • Duties, responsibilities and activities may change at any time with or without notice as assigned by the manager or supervisor.
  • This position requires overnight travel.
Basic Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Basic knowledge of, or interest in, hazardous waste field.
  • Self-motivated person with the desire to learn.
  • Successful completion of OSHA/ DOT physical examination which includes drug and alcohol screening.
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States without future sponsorship.
  • Must have a valid driver's license and reliable form of transportation.
  • Must be willing to consent to Motor Vehicle Record screening, criminal background check, pre-employment physical, and drug screen (inclusive of THC).
  • Upon employment, you will be required to participate in a random drug screening program (inclusive of THC) as part of our company’s commitment to maintaining a safe and healthy work environment.
  • This is a Safety Sensitive Position.
  • Must be able to lift 60 pounds on a regular basis.
  • The Field Technician frequently handles hazardous chemicals and biological waste and is responsible for putting on and taking off personal protective equipment.
Preferred Requirements:
  • Prior relevant industry experience.
  • Experience operating trucks and construction or power equipment, such as but not limited to mechanized broom, backhoe, man-lift, front-end loader, hydraulic excavators and skid steers.
  • Active HAZWOPER 24- or 40-hour certification.
Work Environment:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works in outside weather conditions. The employee frequently works near moving mechanical parts, and is frequently exposed to wet or humid conditions and vibration. The employee occasionally works in high, precarious places and is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and risks of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud. All Personal Protective Equipment requirements must be adhered to.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands and fingers to handle, feel or operate objects, tools or controls, and reach with hands and arms. The employee is frequently required to stand, talk and hear. The employee is occasionally required to walk, sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, taste and smell. The employee must frequently lift or move up to 50 pounds, anything above must be a team lift. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, colour vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
