The placement will be based within the Design Department where your role will be similar to that of a full-time Design Engineer. The work will be real, interesting, and relevant to your studies, helping to develop and test a broad range of skills drawn from the knowledge you have gained at University.
The role will include:
- 3D CAD design work
- Calculations
- Simulation
- Technical drawings
- Liaising with external suppliers and internal departments
Students arenβt taken on as extra resources; they are needed to fulfill the role of an engineer and contribute to the design and development of a production motorcycle. The design department is made up of small, very focused design teams, which will give you the opportunity to quickly take on a position of high responsibility.
A 12-month Industrial Placement position at Triumph is unique from other placement opportunities in that you work hands-on within the business and will play a key role in our future and existing projects. You will be placed within the department and develop your existing skills by working in parallel and collaboratively with our experienced teams.
Triumph is able to offer graduate employment opportunities for Industrial Placement students who perform strongly during their placement year, and Triumph has the opportunity to also offer final year sponsorship deals to students whom it aims to bring back into full-time employment after graduation.
An Industrial Placement in Design is ideally suited to Automotive and Mechanical Engineering degrees. Please note that this role is only open to university students who need to undertake a year out in industry as part of their degree course for the academic year 2025-2026. We will be looking to onboard successful applicants in July 2025 for a 12-month period.
