Working as part of a team within a manufacturing cell to manufacture aircraft landing gear components to aerospace tolerances and standards.
Required to undertake all of the tasks in the cell to manufacture a component from various materials including titanium and aluminium alloys. This includes:
- Setting and operating CNC milling/ turning & EDM machines.
- Checking and verifying own work.
- Part marking, manual broaching, lapping & cleaning of components.
- First line maintenance, calibration of machines.
Qualifications/ Desired Characteristics
Experience in:
- Operating and setting machining centres.
- Operating and setting CNC lathes.
- Operating and setting Wire/ Die sinker EDM.
- Experience with Mazak, Fanuc, Okuma & Mori Seiki controls.
- The use of CMM equipment & manual measuring equipment.
- Use of tool measuring/ setting equipment.
- Knowledge of Lean manufacturing principals.
