What's involved with this role:
We're look for an administrator to join the Safeguarding and Reviewing Unit Administration Team within the Children and Young Peoples Service.
The role involves supporting safeguarding processes through a range of administrative duties, including minute taking, diary management, meeting coordination, data entry and maintaining records. You will regularly handle highly sensitive and confidential information relating to children and young people and will be expected to maintain the highest standards of professionalism, discretion and data protection compliance.
Skills & Experience required:
- Previous administrative experience in a busy office environment.
- Experience working within a confidential or Local Government setting is desirable.
- Minute-taking experience is desirable but not essential.
- Ability to prioritise workload and meet tight deadlines.
- Experience of delivering high-quality customer service to internal and external stakeholders.
- Understanding of data protection, confidentiality and information security requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide effective administrative and business support to staff and customers, including Data input, Typing and correspondence production, Diary management, Photocopying and document preparation
- Act as the first point of contact for the team, dealing professionally with enquiries from colleagues, partners and members of the public.
- Input, maintain and retrieve data using Microsoft Office and specialist social care systems.
- Handle enquiries from internal and external professionals as well as members of the public via telephone, email and face-to-face contact. Undertake live minute taking during reviews and meetings and distribute minutes promptly to attendees.
- Manage electronic diaries and calendars for Independent Reviewing Officers.
Qualifications:
- 4 GCSE C or above grades including: Maths, English and 2 other related subjects.
- ICT Qualification such as EDCL, ICT GCSE or equivalent experience.
