Pay Rate: £16.35 per hour PAYE

Hours per week: 37 Monday to Friday, 9:00-17:00

This opening assignment is for 2 months in Barnsley S71 1NL.

Summary of what the candidate must have to apply:
  • Experience in contract management, contract monitoring or contract administration.
  • Strong analytical skills with experience interpreting complex data and producing reports.
  • Experience validating invoices, processing payments and managing financial information.
  • Confident using Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Able to manage a varied workload and work accurately under pressure.
  • Experience within a local authority or regulated environment is desirable.
  • Knowledge of waste management or HWRC contracts is desirable.
  • Level 3 qualification (or equivalent) is desirable.
The role:
  • Monitor waste disposal and Household Waste Recycling Centre (HWRC) contracts.
  • Analyse contractor performance, KPIs and payment mechanisms.
  • Validate invoices and process contractor payments accurately.
  • Produce reports and analyse operational and financial data.
  • Manage contractor and stakeholder queries and resolve issues.
  • Attend contract meetings and carry out site inspections.
  • Maintain contract records and ensure compliance with legislation.
  • Support procurement activities and continuous service improvements.
Key accountabilities:
  • Monitor contract performance against agreed standards and targets.
  • Identify contract breaches and support corrective actions.
  • Produce accurate reports and performance information.
  • Analyse complex datasets and financial information.
  • Validate contractor invoices and process payments.
  • Maintain contract registers and associated records.
  • Liaise with contractors, colleagues and external stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant legislation and council procedures.
  • Support procurement and contract improvement activities.
  • Undertake site visits and inspections where required.
Requirements/key criteria:
  • Experience in contract management or contract monitoring.
  • Strong data analysis and reporting skills.
  • Experience processing financial information and validating invoices.
  • Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving ability.
  • Confident using Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Able to prioritise workloads and work independently.
  • Experience within a local authority or regulated environment is desirable.
  • Waste management or HWRC contract experience is desirable.
  • Level 3 qualification (or equivalent) is desirable.
  • Willingness to undertake site inspections and travel as required.
