Job Description
Role: Supply Chain Design Lead
Contract Length: 6 initial contract
Pay rate: Competitive pay rate, to be discussed on application

This is an exciting opportunity to join the largest and most complex Commercial and Supply Chain function in government, at a time of transformational change. You will lead a core part of the organisation's Supply Chain Design and Architecture service – to help define, develop and embed best-in-class supply chain principles and solutions to meet revolving operational and strategic requirements. You will work with capability teams, senior stakeholders, and delivery partners to shape future-facing, integrated supply chains. You will influence early capability development, establish design principles, and ensure that supply chain requirements are Embedded effectively through the acquisition life cycle.
Key Accountabilities
- Shape Supply Chain Strategy and Design
- Influence capability development by embedding supply chain strategy at the earliest stages of programme development.
- Design and Deliver End-to-End Supply Chain Solutions
- Support critical programmes with tailored supply chain architecture advice.
- Drive Supply Chain Optimisation and Resilience
- Establish ways of working, tools, and methods for the new supply chain architecture capability.
Key Criteria:
- Deep Supply Chain Expertise: Extensive experience in designing and delivering supply chains in complex, high-risk environments.
- Defence Sector Knowledge: understanding of capability life cycle, and Defence acquisition processes.
- Proven ability to set direction and influence outcomes at senior levels.
- Strategic thinker with a track record of operational delivery and change leadership.
- Strong understanding of commercial principles and market engagement strategies.
- Exceptional ability to build trust-based relationships with internal teams, suppliers, and external partners.
- Proactive, independent, and credible – able to operate with minimal oversight and deliver at pace.
