Working Pattern
This role requires you to be flexible. Successful candidates will need to be able to attend for early and late shifts. On weekdays, the early shifts are 08.00 to 15.24 and late shifts are 13.36 to 21.00. On weekends and public holidays (excluding Christmas Day and New Years Day), the early shifts are 09.00 to 16.24 and late shifts are 09.36 to 17.00.
Candidates are required to be available for all scheduled shifts and will not have the option to select specific shifts.

Detention Officer / Executive Officer β CTC Cleared
Are you confident handling challenging situations, engaging with people effectively, and managing sensitive casework? We are looking for experienced Detention Officers / Executive Officers to join a busy operational team supporting residents within an Immigration Removal Centre (IRC) environment. You will need to be physically fit as this is a demanding role.
The Role
- Conducting face-to-face engagements, inductions and assessments
- Explaining options and consequences of non-compliance
- Identifying, recording and managing vulnerabilities in line with policy
- Working closely with IRC suppliers, stakeholders and caseworkers
- Providing accurate case updates and maintaining comprehensive records
- Recording all interactions promptly on IT systems
- Supporting management reporting and general administration, including inbox and telephone management
- Escalating risks, concerns and issues promptly and appropriately
- Remaining calm, professional and effective when dealing with challenging or sensitive situations
- Active CTC clearance or higher β NON-NEGOTIABLE
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to manage challenging situations with confidence and professionalism
- Leadership potential and strong decision-making skills
- Flexible, adaptable and solutions-focused approach
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel
- Personal Safety Training Level 2
- Spear training
- Disclosure Scotland
- Enhanced non-barred DBS clearance
