We are currently recruiting for an experienced and organised Cellular Pathology Administrator to support a busy Histology team within a large healthcare pathology service. This is an excellent opportunity for a strong administrator with experience working in healthcare, laboratory, medical or high-volume administrative environments who enjoys working in a fast-paced setting and supporting operational service delivery.

The successful candidate will provide a broad range of administrative support to the Cellular Pathology team, supporting the processing, tracking and coordination of pathology documentation, patient information and laboratory case administration.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide administrative support to the Histology / Cellular Pathology service
  • Input patient and specimen details accurately onto the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS)
  • Handle telephone and email enquiries from clinicians, service users and healthcare staff
  • Process and distribute patient reports and documentation in a timely manner
  • Support tracking and coordination of pathology cases sent externally for testing or reporting
  • Maintain spreadsheets and records relating to laboratory cases and reporting activity
  • Assist with general office administration including filing, scanning, photocopying and document preparation
  • Support stock control and ordering of office consumables
  • Ensure confidentiality and compliance with data protection and governance procedures
  • Assist with diary coordination, meeting administration and minute taking where required
  • Support induction and training of new or less experienced staff where appropriate
Essential Skills & Experience
  • Previous administration experience within healthcare, laboratory, medical or clinical environments
  • Strong organisational and communication skills
  • Experience working with databases or information systems
  • Good IT skills including Microsoft Office and Excel
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and work accurately under pressure
  • Excellent customer service and telephone handling skills
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to handle confidential information appropriately
Desirable Experience
  • Experience using LIMS systems
  • Previous Cellular Pathology, Histology or laboratory administration experience
