Temporary Registered Building Inspector (Class 3H) Ref number: Greenwich RQ1484025. Hybrid working. Mainly site inspections and working from home with a day in the office every week or so.

Skills & Experience:
- Minimum 3H RBI (Registered Building Inspector) with at least six years building control experience working on high-rise and complex buildings.
- Associate membership of the CABE, CIOB, RICS or equivalent.
- Knowledge of the main operational, procedural and practical issues relating to the BC service.
- Substantial experience of the Building Control function.
- Awareness and ability to follow Health & Safety Procedures.
- Ability to build relationships with local builders, contractors, architects and plan drawers to ensure compliance with Regulations and if necessary, require non-compliant work to be remedied without the necessity for formal enforcement action.
What’s involved with this role:
You will manage building proposals, ensuring decisions are made and issued within agreed or statutory time limits, in accordance with relevant legislation.
Key responsibilities:
- Advise on regulations, including the London Building Act, and provide guidance on entertainment licensing and notifiable works attracting repair/improvement grants.
- Ensure Building Regulation proposal fees align with the set criteria and charge regulations.
- Review and decide on 'initial' and 'final' notices submitted by approved inspectors.
- Maintain accurate records of site inspections.
- Investigate complaints and breaches of regulations, preparing Notices and evidence for legal proceedings when necessary.
- Authorize approvals and decisions related to the group’s daily activities.
- Ensure compliance with relevant legislation and procedures in all actions and decisions.
