Pay Rate: Attractive PAYE day rate, with flexible holiday pay

In scope Hours: 37 hours per week

Length of Contract: 6 months

Location: Kidlington Oxford

Working Arrangements: 100% office based

Working Pattern: This role requires you to be flexible. Successful candidates will need to be able to attend for early and late shifts. On weekdays, the early shifts are 08.00 to 15.24 and late shifts are 13.36 to 21.00. On weekends and public holidays (excluding Christmas Day and New Years Day), the early shifts are 09.00 to 16.24 and late shifts are 09.36 to 17.00. Candidates are required to be available for all scheduled shifts and will not have the option to select specific shifts. Shifts are on a pattern between 7am and 8pm Monday to Friday, and 9am and 5pm Saturdays and Sundays. 1 in 3 weekend working both Saturday and Sunday expected.

We are seeking confident, resilient and people-focused Detention Engagement Officers to provide face-to-face support and engagement in a secure working environment. This is a varied and rewarding role where you will build professional relationships, provide clear information, support individuals to understand their case and ensure important updates and documentation are communicated accurately and on time.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct face-to-face engagements, inductions and assessments
  • Provide clear information and discuss options and consequences of non-compliance
  • Identify and appropriately manage vulnerability indicators
  • Maintain regular communication with casework teams and external service providers
  • Manage a portfolio of individuals and provide case updates
  • Accurately record interactions and information on IT systems
  • Provide timely feedback and elevate concerns appropriately
  • Contribute to reports, inbox management, telephone enquiries and general administration

Strong leadership potential and sound judgement

Good IT skills, including Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel
