The role:
On behalf of a local council, we are seeking a Property Lawyer or Property Paralegal, to work as part of a Shared legal service known as the Legal Practice, to provide high-quality legal services to the partnership of three Councils (Cambridge City Council, South Cambridgeshire District Council, and Huntingdonshire District Council). You will provide legal services including working with and mentoring Legal Officers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Advise on and manage a diverse caseload of property matters including acquisitions, disposals, leases, licences, easements, and land transfers.
- Support strategic council initiatives such as regeneration schemes, affordable housing projects, and public infrastructure development.
- Draft, negotiate, and review legal documentation related to council-owned land and property.
- Provide timely, clear legal advice to officers, elected members, and service departments.
- Ensure all legal processes comply with relevant statutory and regulatory requirements.

- Qualified Solicitor/Barrister or Fellow of the Institute of Legal Executives or demonstrable significant experience working at this level (evidence of holding or eligibility for a practising certificate required).
