Job Title: Planning Solicitor

  • Ref: Nuneaton 5275184
  • Pay rate: £50.00 per hour PAYE
  • Role length: Anticipated 1 – 2 months
  • Working arrangements: 20 hours per week – days subject to agreement
  • Additional requirement: Current driving license with access to motorised transport and ability to travel as required

The role

We are looking for an experienced Planning Solicitor to undertake an audit of agreements the Council has entered into pursuant to Section 106 of the Town and Country Planning Act 1990 and to produce an analysis of the financial contributions received from those agreements. This role will involve closely liaising with Officers in the Finance Team to assess which elements of the contributions have been drawn down from the balance sheets and offset against contributions received.

What the client is looking for

  • Qualified lawyer, barrister or solicitor or FILEX
  • Experience in practice as a qualified solicitor or barrister
  • Knowledge and experience of planning law
  • Experience of s106 arrangements
  • Working knowledge of the law and practice relating to planning
  • Sound working knowledge of local government law and practice
  • Proficient IT skills
  • Good communication skills, both oral and written to include presentation of complex and contentious issues to a wide and varied audience
  • Ability to research and analyse complex information
