A MIS and Business Support Officer is responsible for managing data systems, reporting processes and administrative support within the Adult, Community and Family Learning (ACFL) service. The role focuses on ensuring learner and funding data is accurate, compliant with education funding rules and submitted on time. It also involves overseeing management information systems (MIS), analysing data, improving reporting processes and managing the administration team to ensure efficient front‑line services.

Qualifications

  • GCSE equivalent A*-C Maths and English
  • Degree or equivalent in a relevant area such as statistics, maths, ICT, research methods

Skills & Experience required

  • Considerable knowledge of customer‑facing services
  • Substantial experience of the Further Education sector
  • Substantial experience of data collection and statistical analysis
  • Substantial management experience
  • Considerable experience of financial processes

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensuring all data collections processes are efficient and effective from front‑line to MIS systems
  • Ensuring that data is returned to the funding body accurately and on time
  • Ensuring data returns from partners are collated and submitted on time
  • Liaising with TERMS (MIS system) and Central MIS to ensure that TERMS updates are made on time or other adjustments made as appropriate
  • Managing the AFCL Administration Team to ensure front‑line services to residents (enrolments, information) are excellent
  • Interpreting and implementing contractual and funding information, ensuring compliance, data collection and reporting processes are appropriate and robust, training the team on any necessary changes and informing the Head of Service
