We are looking for an experienced IT Continuity/Disaster Recovery professional with proven expertise in Business Continuity, Disaster Recovery and Operational Resilience. The successful candidate will have hands-on experience developing, implementing and testing continuity and disaster recovery plans, together with a strong understanding of resilience standards, legislation and industry best practice.
Key responsibilities include:
- Developing, implementing and monitoring resilience strategies and processes, using KPIs to drive continuous improvement.
- Acting as the subject matter expert, providing specialist resilience advice to senior leadership.
- Leading Business Impact Analyses (BIA), contingency planning and wider resilience activities.
- Developing, maintaining and continuously improving Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery processes.
- Creating and delivering resilience testing and exercise programmes, providing assurance to leadership teams on organisational preparedness.
- Reviewing regulatory, legal and governance requirements, ensuring compliance and providing assurance across the function.
- Building relationships with external stakeholders, including the wider rail industry, regulators and government organisations.
- Promoting resilience across the business, influencing stakeholders and embedding best practice into operational processes.
- Reviewing technical solutions and resilience plans, producing recommendations to improve organisational resilience.
- Managing third-party suppliers to ensure critical services remain resilient and identifying mitigation strategies where risks are identified.
Resilience covers Operational Resilience, Business Continuity and Crisis Management.
Key criteria:
- Proven experience in one or more resilience disciplines, including Business Continuity, Disaster Recovery, Incident Management or Emergency Planning.
- Demonstrable experience of IT Continuity and Disaster Recovery planning, testing and exercising.
- Knowledge of technologies and tools used for continuity planning and execution.
- Strong understanding of resilience standards, legislation and best practice.
- Membership of a relevant professional body (eg AMBCI).
- ISO 22301 Lead Auditor qualification.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management and influencing skills.
- Ability to prioritise competing demands and deliver in a fast-paced, safety-critical, technology-driven environment.
