Our client is seeking a Commercial Officer / Software Commercial Specialist to join a Commercial team and support the delivery of key programme objectives. The role focuses on managing the end-to-end procurement lifecycle for software solutions, building strong supplier relationships, and providing commercial advice to support business outcomes.
You will work closely with internal stakeholders and external suppliers to develop sourcing strategies, run competitive procurements, and ensure contracts deliver value for money while managing commercial and operational risk.
Key Responsibilities- Commercial Strategy: Develop and implement aligned with organisational objectives.
- Market Engagement: Conduct market analysis, supplier engagement, and benchmarking to inform procurement decisions.
- Tender Management: Lead competitive procurement exercises, including drafting invitations to tender, managing clarifications, and evaluating bids.
- Contract Negotiation & Management: Negotiate commercial terms, service levels, and licensing agreements to achieve value for money and mitigate risk. Administer contract amendments and support ongoing contract management activities.
- Compliance & Governance: Ensure procurement activities are delivered within budget and in line with internal policies, relevant regulations, and industry best practice.
- Stakeholder Management: Collaborate with technical teams, programme leads, and legal advisors to deliver successful procurement outcomes.
- Risk Management: Identify and manage commercial, operational, and delivery risks throughout the procurement lifecycle.
- Proven experience in software procurement within a complex organisation.
- Strong understanding of software licensing models and commercial structures.
- Experience managing end-to-end software procurements and delivering value for money.
- Excellent negotiation and contract management skills.
- Strong stakeholder engagement, communication, and influencing abilities.
- Ability to work to targets and deliver outcomes within agreed timescales.
- MCIPS qualification or equivalent professional experience.
