Job title: Repairs and Maintenance Project Manager / Building Surveyor
Ref: Dorset 120226 • Pay rate: £305.90 PAYE to £382.37 PAYE per day, dependent on experience • Contract Type: Temporary, anticipated 3 to 4 months • Working arrangement: Hybrid working. Approximately 3 days in office, mixed with travelling around Dorset. Potentially 1-2 days WFH, but this will vary week to week.

Role
We are seeking a Repairs and Maintenance Project Manager / Building Surveyor to support a local Council’s property portfolio. This is a hands-on role ensuring safety, compliance, and high standards across a diverse range of assets.
Responsibilities
- Ensure asset compliance, safety, and maintenance
- Deliver planned and reactive maintenance programmes for a portfolio of assets
- Manage capital repairs projects (£100k plus), through procurement and implementation
- Manage budgets, contracts, and procurement
- Collaborate across teams and with external partners
- Maintain property data and performance metrics
Requirements / Qualifications
- Degree-level or equivalent
- Experience delivering Repairs and Maintenance (R&M) programmes of work, managing contractors, budgets, and stakeholder relationships
- A driver’s license is required
- Strong communication and leadership skills
- Legal and contract understanding
- Digital property systems proficiency
- Strategic thinking and problem-solving
- Knowledge of Local Authority operations
