What's involved with this role:
We are seeking a Passenger Operations Supervisor to oversee the delivery of passenger transport services provided by Merton Transport Services (MTS). The role involves managing a team of Drivers and Passenger Assistants, ensuring services are delivered safely, efficiently and in line with all relevant transport legislation and safeguarding requirements. You will play a key role in driving service improvements, monitoring operational performance and ensuring passenger transport services are delivered to a high standard while remaining cost-effective and responsive to the needs of the community.
Qualifications:
- Full UK Driving Licence
Skills & Experience Required:
- Up-to-date knowledge of transport services operations and regulatory requirements
- Experience with financial procedures, including budget management and reporting
- Knowledge of the Road Transport Act and Driver & Vehicle Licensing requirements
- Knowledge of safeguarding policies relating to children and vulnerable adults
- Understanding of Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) requirements
- Experience working within a large multi-functional organisation
- Experience managing operational teams or administrative staff
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure the effective and efficient delivery of a comprehensive passenger transport service and monitor service performance.
- Supervise drivers, attendants and passenger assistants, ensuring all required certifications are valid, including DBS, Driver CPC, MiDAS and PAT training.
- Carry out vehicle spot checks to ensure safety and legal compliance.
- Work closely with other departments to support service development and ensure services meet community needs.
- Produce and present regular reports on team performance, operational issues and financial information to stakeholders.
- Act as a key holder for the Passenger Operations office on a rota basis and provide office cover between 6:30am and 6:00pm as required.
