About the role
This role will play a key part in supporting the implementation of a major organisational change programme that includes transitioning employees from one grading structure to another.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Supporting Market Forces Supplement reviews and associated analysis
- Managing and supporting grading appeals arising from the transition to the new grading framework
- Conducting reward-related research, benchmarking and data analysis
- Providing expert advice and guidance on job evaluation outcomes and reward matters
- Working on complex pay arrangements, including premium payments, overtime calculations and additional pay elements
- Auditing and validating Market Forces Supplement requirements
- Supporting wider reward activities including pay, benefits and job evaluation initiatives
- Producing clear and meaningful analysis for both HR and non-HR stakeholders
- Maintaining accurate records, governance documentation and project administration
Skills and experience required
We are particularly interested in candidates who can combine strong analytical capability with the ability to explain complex findings clearly to a range of stakeholders. The ideal candidate will have:
- Experience working within HR, Reward, Compensation & Benefits, or a related analytical role
- Strong data analysis, interpretation and reporting skills
- Experience advising on HR matters and providing evidence-based recommendations
- Experience managing multiple projects and competing priorities
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
- Experience handling sensitive and confidential information
- Strong organisational and administrative skills
Highly desirable:
- Understanding and practical experience of the Hay Job Evaluation Scheme
- Experience of market pay benchmarking and reward analysis
- Exposure to job matching and job evaluation processes
- Local government or public sector reward experience
