Key Responsibilities

  • Act as Lead Commissioner across identified service areas and themes, developing strategies and business cases to improve outcomes.
  • Oversee the full commissioning cycle - from needs analysis to evaluation - ensuring services meet user needs and deliver value.
  • Lead contract monitoring, performance management and quality assurance of services.
  • Manage commissioning budgets and maximise funding opportunities.
  • Liaise and negotiate with a wide range of stakeholders including providers, communities, and elected members.
  • Deliver reports and presentations to influence local policy and service delivery.

What We're Looking For

  • Proven experience in commissioning, service planning, and contract management.
  • Strong understanding of national/local strategies and legislation in health, social care or public services.
  • Skilled in performance management, budget oversight, and service redesign.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and analytical skills.
  • Level 6 qualification in a relevant area, or equivalent extensive experience (particularly in commissioning or project management).
