Overview
Energy and Sustainability Officer – JM 114043
Our client is seeking a proactive and passionate Energy and Sustainability Officer to join their Property and Asset Management team. This role focuses on delivering key housing energy and sustainability projects across the housing stock in Hackney, London.
Salary: £23.20 per hour PAYE • Contract length: 3 months • Hours: 35-37 per week • Location: Hackney, London
Responsibilities
- Support the development of comprehensive technical standards to improve housing energy efficiency and sustainability.
- Promote energy efficiency initiatives to tenants and leaseholders to help reduce fuel poverty.
- Maintain accurate records and deliver strategic performance reports on housing sustainability.
- Contribute to funding bids to secure investment in energy efficiency projects.
- Provide expert advice and guidance on sustainability issues to colleagues, councillors, and residents.
- Stay up to date with best practice, legislation, and regulatory changes in housing-related energy.
- Produce Energy Performance Certificates (EPCs) for the Council’s housing stock.
- Assist in managing effective heat metering and billing systems.
What you will bring
- Knowledge: Strong technical understanding of energy efficiency, sustainability standards, legislation, and best practices in domestic housing.
- Experience: Proven experience developing technical specifications; project management experience desirable.
- Qualifications: A relevant professional qualification, such as a degree in Environmental Science or a building-related field, or equivalent experience.
- Skills: Ability to prepare technical briefs and specifications, analyse data, and build effective partnerships. Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
