Lead Developer
Contract Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced Lead Developer to provide hands‑on technical leadership within a multidisciplinary delivery team, delivering high‑quality, secure and maintainable digital applications and services.
You will lead technical delivery, remain actively involved in development, guide technical decisions and mentor developers, ensuring solutions meet user needs and follow modern engineering standards.
The Ideal Candidate
A hands‑on technical leader who combines strong development skills with the ability to lead teams, make sound technical decisions and deliver high‑quality software. Experience in complex or regulated environments and modern engineering practices would be advantageous.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and coordinate development teams to deliver new applications and enhancements to existing systems. Design, develop and review secure, scalable and maintainable software solutions. Provide technical guidance, coaching and mentoring to developers. Ensure high standards of code quality, testing, security and performance. Collaborate with architects, DevOps, product teams and stakeholders. Drive improvements in automated testing, CI/CD, API integration, reusable components and developer tooling.
Essential Skills & Experience
Strong hands‑on experience with C#, modern .NET, ASP.NET and web application development. Experience with .NET Core/.NET Framework, RESTful APIs, SQL Server, Git and CI/CD pipelines. Knowledge of modern frontend frameworks such as Angular, React or Vue. Proven experience leading technical teams and delivering packages of work. Strong systems design skills, with a focus on security, integration, performance and maintainability. Experience working in agile, multidisciplinary delivery teams.
