You will help prevent homelessness by providing advice, carrying out assessments and supporting customers. Contract is initially3 months,working acrossDewsbury and Huddersfield Hubs HD1 2YZ .
Pay Rate:£15.31 per hour PAYE
Hours per week:37 Monday - Friday
Key requirements
- Knowledge of housing and homelessness legislation and housing-related benefits.
- Experience delivering frontline services in a busy, customer-focused environment.
- Strong communication, negotiation and mediation skills.
- Ability to support customers with complex needs and challenging behaviours.
- Good IT, literacy and numeracy skills to maintain accurate records.
Key responsibilities
- Carry out homelessness assessmentsand make appropriate decisions in line with legislation.
- Provide housing advice and guidanceto customers facing homelessness.
- Work to prevent homelessness through early intervention and support.
- Maintain accurate case notes and prepare clear letters and emails.
- Work with internal and external partners to support customers and arrange temporary accommodation where needed.
