Our client is seeking an experienced and visionary Head of Emerging Technology to lead its digital innovation agenda during an exciting period of transformation.
This senior interim opportunity will play a pivotal role in identifying, evaluating and implementing emerging technologies that improve patient care, enhance operational efficiency and support the NHS's digital transformation ambitions.
Working directly with the Chief Digital Officer and senior clinical leaders, you will help position the Trust at the forefront of healthcare innovation, driving the adoption of AI, digital health solutions, advanced analytics, remote monitoring technologies and other emerging innovations.
The Opportunity
This is a high-profile leadership role responsible for:
- Developing and delivering the Trust's emerging technology and innovation strategy
- Leading a portfolio of digital innovation projects and transformation initiatives
- Identifying opportunities to leverage AI, data, digital therapeutics, wearables and other emerging technologies
- Building strategic partnerships with NHS organisations, academia, research institutions and industry partners
- Supporting funding applications, innovation programmes and external collaborations
- Driving innovation adoption and change management across clinical and operational services
- Ensuring robust governance, information security and regulatory compliance across innovation projects
- Representing the Trust at regional and national innovation forums
About You
We are keen to hear from candidates with:
Essential
- Significant senior leadership experience within digital transformation, healthcare innovation or technology strategy
- Strong track record of delivering complex digital and innovation programmes within the NHS or healthcare sector
- Experience developing innovation partnerships with external stakeholders, suppliers, academic institutions or research organisations
- Excellent stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to influence senior clinical and executive leaders
- Strong understanding of digital health technologies, AI, data-driven transformation and emerging healthcare innovation
- Experience leading organisational change and driving adoption of new technologies
Desirable
- Experience working with NHS innovation programmes, NIHR, Health Innovation Networks or Innovate UK
- Knowledge of AI governance, data protection, DTAC and NHS digital standards
- Experience securing external funding for innovation initiatives
- Background in health informatics, digital health, research, transformation or emerging technologies
