INDUSTRIAL AND MANUFACTURING ENGINEER
An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Production Engineering department for an Industrial and Manufacturing Engineer.
As an Industrial and Manufacturing Engineer, you will play a strategic role within cross-functional teams, enabling the smooth integration of new product innovations into full-scale manufacturing. You will spearhead initiatives that drive process optimisation, maximise operational efficiency across manufacturing.
Responsibilities Include
Partner with Design Engineering to ensure manufacturability and scalability of new products.
Provide input on design for assembly (DFA) and design for manufacturability (DFM) to reduce complexity and improve production efficiency.
Develop/Maintain standard labour times and process documentation to support financial planning, ERP integration, and capacity modelling.
Support pilot builds and ramp-up activities for new product introductions, including SOP creation and training materials.
Design/Refine factory layouts and material flow strategies to improve safety, ergonomics, and operational efficiency.
Collaborate with Facilities and Automation teams to plan and implement equipment upgrades, automation solutions, and smart manufacturing technologies.
Analyse production data to identify trends, bottlenecks, and improvement opportunities.
Lead continuous improvement initiatives using root cause analysis, Kaizen, and statistical process control (SPC).
Champion best practices in work-study, time measurement, and performance auditing.
Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards across engineering activities.
Key Requirements
Proficiency in production analysis tools.
Hands-on experience with process improvement tools (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma).
Formal Qualifications In Industrial, Manufacturing, Mechanical, Or Production Engineering.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, acting quickly with integrity.
Collaborative and a good team player, determined to overcome obstacles.
Works well under pressure and engages at all levels of the organisation both internally and externally.
