This position is responsible in an operational capacity for the provision of enhanced security services. In addition, responding as part of a Mines Rescue Team, to deliver an effect and efficient Mines Rescue Service. This position will be part of a 24/7 ‘On Call’ duty system to fully meet and surpass the requirements stipulated in the Mines Regulations 2014. This person will:

Role Responsibility:

  • Provide a highly professional enhanced security service, engaging proactively with clients
  • Upon hearing the emergency alarm, report to the Mines Rescue Captain for instructions
  • Secure the scene of the emergency and assist with the evacuation of personnel
  • Assist the Mines Rescue Captain to stabilise and make the immediate area safe
  • Treat any injured persons
  • Provision of pre-hospital trauma medical support to maintain the health of people in the event of an incident/accident and protect against further injury and/or loss.
  • Extinguish or keep fires under control
  • Attend emergency response training, exercises and drills
  • Mobilise the required Mines Rescue equipment (rescue equipment, stabilisation and structural collapse equipment, firefighting equipment etc)
  • Assist with securing the scene and preserving evidence if time allows
  • Assist with ensuring the site is safe before standing down
  • Attend de-briefing sessions with the Mines Rescue Captain
  • Assist the Mines Rescue Captain with the daily delivery of the service
  • Actively promote safe work practices around site and report any findings to Mines Rescue Captain
  • Ensuring the safety and security of our clients’ buildings and assets by carrying out all duties in full adherence with client requirements.
  • Ensuring at all times, a smart, alert, visible and commanding security presence at the premises of our clients
  • Provide conflict resolution at client premises where there is potential for conflict
  • Greeting, assisting and directing members of the public, contractors and staff visiting the premises of our client
  • Engage in daily dialogue and site tours to maintain an up to date understanding of the project
  • Maintain a strict level of health and fitness appropriate to the role

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Prior experience of working as a Security Officer in the Security Industry
  • A valid SIA Licence or current certificate of completion of SIA training
  • Presentable with excellent communication and literacy skills
  • Someone who aspires to be the best they can in their area of expertise
  • Someone who has advanced IT skills and be able to learn and operate our training and competence systems.
  • Someone who is able to work on their own initiative, while being part of a wider team
  • Strong organisational skills
  • Someone who has creative vision and an ability to develop flexible solutions

Salary: Competitive + 10% On Call Payment
