Saltend Power Station is seeking to recruit an experienced Electrical Technician. As an Electrical Technician you will be responsible for plant maintenance, performing fault diagnosis and routine maintenance of electrical apparatus and auxiliary equipment, project work and the supervision of contractors. Working within a disciplined team you will work in accordance with site procedures and maintenance strategies to ensure operational performance is maintained. The role is a day role, with a call out rota in operation for essential maintenance outside of normal working hours.

Key accountabilities for the Electrical Technician role include:

  • Perform fault diagnosis and routine maintenance on complex plant and equipment
  • Ensure maintenance targets are achieved safely and commercially
  • Schedule work using the computerised maintenance management system (CMMS)
  • Manage contracts and supervision of contractors
  • Deliver maintenance strategies and procedures
  • Deliver outcomes in all areas of work consistent with quality, health, safety and environmental policies and procedures
  • Provide call out cover for essential maintenance

We are looking for someone with the following:

  • Formal engineering qualification, HNC or equivalent in electrical discipline
  • A strong electrical background with HV/LV experience
  • Large industrial process background, preferably within the power industry or similar process-based environment
  • Permit to work systems, safe system of work experience
  • Computer literate with knowledge of computerised maintenance management systems (CMMS)

This is a permanent role based at Saltend Power Station, Hull. You must live, or be prepared to be located, within a commutable distance from the power station. You will need to complete our pre-employment screening and security checks to the required standard for this role. You must have the legal right to work in the UK. In return, the successful candidate will receive a highly competitive salary, performance related bonus and benefits package.
