About The Role
Reporting to our Finance Manager responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Daily reconciliations of bank accounts and credit card accounts
- Maintain the debtor’s ledger and process invoices and self-bills
- Assistance in monthly management accounts, including maintaining the fixed asset schedule and processing prepayments and accruals
- Support with month end journals
- Assisting with the processing of payroll
- Support in the preparation for annual audits
The role is based at our office in Jarrow, just south of Newcastle, covering our standard working hours of Monday to Thursday: 8:30am-5:00pm, and Friday: 9:00am-3:00pm with no evenings, no weekends, and an early finish every Friday!
Job requirements
- Experienced with journal posting
- Experience as a Finance Assistant or Bookkeeper
- Studying towards or recently completed AAT
- Proficient in using financial software and Microsoft Office – predominantly Outlook and Excel
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Flexible and adaptable, able to respond to changing demands and can prioritise work effectively
- A problem-solver with a high level of attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to handle confidential information sensitively
