The Proposals Engineer will be responsible for generating, developing and converting project specifications into secured sales revenue across the region. This is a specification-led, technically focused commercial role operating at the front end of the sales cycle. The successful candidate will build sustainable relationships with architects, consultants and key supply chain stakeholders to ensure products are specified and protected through to order stage. The role combines technical expertise with commercial accountability and requires a proactive approach to pipeline development and project conversion.
Key Responsibilities
- Achieve agreed specification pipeline and invoiced sales targets
- Respond to architect and consultant enquiries, providing technical support and product guidance
- Proactively identify and develop relationships with key architects, specifiers and design practices
- Generate new project specifications within the façade and building envelope sector
- Retain ownership of specifications and manage them through to order secured stage
- Work closely with Architectural Advisors, Regional Sales Managers and authorised Dealers to convert specifications into orders
- Engage with main contractors to position approved Dealers on specified projects
- Maintain accurate project records and pipeline data within Salesforce
- Review pipeline performance monthly with the Regional Sales Manager
- Submit structured weekly activity and pipeline reports
Technical Requirements
- Strong technical or engineering background
- Ability to interpret architectural drawings, geometrical forms and façade detailing
- 3 to 5 years experience within façade, fenestration or associated building envelope sector
- Proven experience in specification sales essential
- Good understanding of construction supply chain dynamics
- CAD knowledge desirable
- IT literate with CRM experience preferred
