Are you an experienced marketing professional who combines high standards and sound judgement with a genuinely hands‑on approach? We are recruiting a Senior Marketing Manager for an established and growing financial‑planning business based in Blackheath. This is an opportunity to take ownership of day‑to‑day marketing delivery within a friendly, ambitious local business. You will work within an established strategy and brand framework, ensuring marketing activity is delivered consistently, professionally and to a high standard.
This is not a purely strategic position or a specialist performance‑marketing role. It will suit someone who enjoys making things happen, exercising judgement and taking responsibility for the quality of work going out to clients and the wider market.
The role
- Own the day‑to‑day delivery of marketing activity across content, client communications, events, design, digital and physical channels
- Protect and maintain brand, editorial and design standards
- Turn agreed marketing strategy into consistently well‑executed campaigns and activity
- Plan and manage the marketing calendar, deadlines and budget
- Brief, manage and quality‑check work produced by designers, SEO, social‑media and web specialists
- Line‑manage and develop a part‑time Community Engagement Manager
- Oversee local events, partnerships and community‑engagement activity
- Deliver effective physical marketing campaigns, including direct mail, flyers and leaflet distribution
- Manage review‑generation activity across platforms including Google Business Profile and VouchedFor
- Track campaign performance and provide clear reporting on results
- Produce occasional creative or marketing materials when a quick turnaround is required
- Use AI tools effectively and exercise appropriate judgement over their output
About you
We are looking for someone with substantial generalist marketing experience gained at manager or senior manager level. You will bring the professional standards and attention to detail associated with a larger or highly regarded marketing environment, while being motivated by the autonomy and involvement available within a smaller business.
The successful candidate will offer:
- Strong marketing judgement and the confidence to make and defend decisions
- Experience delivering integrated marketing activity across digital and physical channels
- Excellent brand, editorial and quality‑control standards
- The ability to work successfully within an established brand and audience framework
- A practical understanding of digital tracking, campaign metrics and reporting
- Experience tailoring marketing communications to different customer groups, including mature audiences
- Strong organisational, budget‑management and deadline‑management skills
- Previous line‑management or team‑development experience
- A proactive, self‑sufficient and collaborative working style
- Confidence using AI tools thoughtfully and responsibly
Experience within financial services, professional services or another regulated environment would be advantageous, although it is not essential. Familiarity with HubSpot, Microsoft 365 or Canva would also be beneficial.
The opportunity
This is a stable, autonomous and influential role within a friendly local business that is continuing to grow. The successful candidate will have genuine scope to expand their responsibilities and develop into a broader marketing leadership remit as the company grows. This is positioned as long‑term potential rather than a predetermined progression route.
Package and working arrangements
- Salary of £48,000–£54,000, depending on experience
- Full‑time and office‑based in Blackheath, SE3
- Scope to work one day per week from home once established
- 33 days’ paid holiday, inclusive of public holidays and the Christmas closure period
- Private medical insurance
- Company pension
