Overview

Job description

We are seeking a skilled and reliable Truck Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for transporting goods safely and efficiently, ensuring timely deliveries while adhering to all traffic regulations and safety protocols. This role requires a strong commitment to customer service and the ability to handle various types of cargo, including flatbed loads.

Duties

• Operate lorries in a safe and efficient manner, ensuring compliance with all road regulations.
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure safety and functionality.
• Load and unload cargo, securing it appropriately for transport, particularly when handling flatbed deliveries.
• Plan routes effectively to optimise delivery times while considering traffic conditions.
• Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including logs of mileage, fuel usage, and any incidents that may occur during transport.
• Communicate effectively with dispatchers and customers regarding delivery schedules and any potential delays.
• Adhere to company policies and procedures regarding safety, vehicle maintenance, and customer service.

Qualifications

• Valid commercial driving licence (C+E) with a clean driving record.
• Previous experience as a delivery driver or in a similar role is preferred.
• Familiarity with flatbed lorry operations is an advantage.
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage time effectively.
• Excellent communication skills for interacting with clients and team members.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
• A commitment to safety and adherence to all relevant regulations.
