Team: One direct report (Finance Assistant)

The Role

As Triptease's Finance Manager you will own a broad operational finance remit across our international group, working closely with the Financial Controller and leading the Finance Assistant. You will be responsible for the accurate and timely execution of day-to-day finance operations spanning payroll, AP, cashflow, VAT compliance, cost analysis, and balance sheet reconciliations while also playing an active role in improving and automating the processes that underpin them. This is a hands-on role for a part-qualified or qualified by experience accountant who takes pride in accuracy, thrives in a fast-moving environment, and has an eye for spotting where automation or smarter processes can remove manual effort and create material efficiencies.

Reporting & Management Accounts

Supporting the Financial Controller in the production and review of monthly management accounts, you will take ownership of:

  • P&L preparation and review with focus on the cost base, including variance analysis against budget and prior periods.
  • Preparation of supporting commentary and analysis files to underpin monthly reporting.

Payroll

End-to-end management of the payroll process, ensuring accurate and timely execution across all entities (UK, Spain, Portugal, USA, Singapore and contractors via Deel). Wages analysis and reconciliation, including liaison with the People team on headcount and pay changes.

Sales Tax & VAT Compliance

Ownership of VAT and sales tax compliance across the group's operating regions. Preparation and submission of returns, ensuring timely and accurate filing in every jurisdiction we operate in.

Cashflow

Production and maintenance of cashflow forecasts, providing timely visibility to the Financial Controller. Active management of cash positions and preemptive flagging of any risks or shortfalls.

Accounts Payable

Oversight of the AP function, ensuring invoices are processed, approved and paid accurately and on time. Escalation point of contact for AP queries.

Insurance

Coordination of the company's insurance programme, including renewals, policy management and liaison with brokers.

Cost Analysis & Accruals

Preparation and maintenance of cost analysis files, identifying variances to budget and providing clear explanations. Production of accruals, ensuring the cost base is accurately reflected in the month-end position. Wages analysis to support headcount reporting and cost control.

Balance Sheet Reconciliations — Liabilities

Ownership of a defined set of balance sheet reconciliations, including:

  • Maintenance fee reconciliation
  • Pensions control account
  • Adspend reconciliation
  • Intercompany ledgers
  • PAYE control
  • Salaries control account
  • Loan accounts

Systems & Finance Ops

Management of finance system subscriptions, including renewals, user access and vendor relationships. Supporting the Financial Controller in the planning and execution of new finance system implementations. Proactively identifying tasks within the FinOps function that could be improved through automation or AI tooling, and working with the team to implement improvements.

Processes & Financial Controls

Maintaining and improving documented processes across your areas of ownership. Upholding financial controls and flagging gaps or risks as the business evolves.

Marketing Events

Financial reporting and cashflow management for Marketing Events, ensuring accurate tracking and timely reporting.

Management of Finance Assistant

Day-to-day management and development of the Finance Assistant, setting clear priorities and providing regular feedback. Supporting the Finance Assistant's growth and building a collaborative, high-quality team environment.

Ad Hoc

Responding to operational finance queries from across the business as and when they arise. Supporting ad hoc projects and analysis as directed by the Financial Controller or wider finance leadership.

Requirements

About You

Essential skills:

  • Qualified by experience or Part-qualified accountant (ACCA, CIMA or equivalent). Actively working towards full qualification is preferable but not essential.
  • Solid hands-on experience across core operational finance — payroll, AP, VAT/sales tax, reconciliations and cashflow.
  • Experience managing or mentoring a junior team member.
  • Experience working within a multi-entity or group structure.
  • Comfortable working independently in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Curious about how AI and automation can improve finance processes and keen to apply this in practice.
  • Strong attention to detail, with a systematic approach to reconciliations and reporting.
  • Clear and confident communicator, able to work cross-functionally across the business.
  • Positive, proactive, can-do attitude and a strong work ethic.
