Team: Two direct reports (Financial Controller and Credit Manager) leading a wider team of 11 finance professionals

Type: Full-time, 12 month contract.

The Role

As Triptease’s Finance Director you will own the transactional finance function across our international group and lead the change agenda that takes our finance operation to the next level of automation. Reporting to the CFO, you’ll have responsibility for the timely and accurate delivery of all month-end information; full P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash flow and associated KPIs while driving a meaningful step‑up in automation, systems and processes across the function. This is a hands‑on leadership role for a qualified accountant who loves bringing order to growing finance teams, has run audits and multi‑entity closes (including the US), and gets energy through using AI to build automated, scalable processes as well as through people development.

Transactional Finance

  • Leading a team of 11 finance professionals through your two direct reports (Financial Controller and Credit Manager), you will be accountable for the integrity and quality of our transactional finance and reporting, including oversight and review of:
  • Balance sheet reconciliations for all international regions, including the US.
  • Monthly revenue - MRR / ARR tracker, billing, revenue recognition, deferred revenue, accrued revenue and revenue provisioning.
  • Production and review of associated commentary for month‑end packs.
  • P&L analysis - detailed insights from variances to prior month, budget or prior year, working closely with the FP&A team.
  • Cash flow and treasury management across multiple currencies and entities.
  • Financial processes and controls across the business.
  • Compliance with all relevant taxation regulations and timely delivery of statutory returns in every region we operate in.
  • Production of SaaS metrics reporting (ARR, NRR, churn, gross margin) to feed board and management reporting.
  • Maximising cash collection through an effective credit control function, led by the Credit Manager.

Systems, Automation & Change Management

A defining priority for this role is to modernise how the finance function runs. You will:

  • Lead the finance systems roadmap, including ERP / accounting platform migrations and the integration of billing, AR/AP, expenses and reporting tools (current stack includes Xero and Fathom).
  • Identify and remove manual work across the team.
  • Build a culture of automation, scalable processes and clean data.
  • Project‑manage transformation initiatives end‑to‑end, from business case through go‑live and adoption, taking the team with you on the journey.
  • Partner with Engineering, RevOps, Data and the wider business to ensure finance systems are well‑integrated with the rest of the tech stack.
  • Champion continuous improvement of financial controls and processes as the business and systems evolve.

Multi‑Geography Finance & Compliance

Oversee accounting, tax and compliance across UK, US and other international entities, including transfer pricing and inter‑company arrangements. Manage relationships with overseas advisors and tax authorities; ensure timely filings everywhere we operate. Assist with ad hoc historical financial reporting where required, including regional audits.

Company Secretarial, Equity & Audit

Lead the annual audit process and be the key point of contact for Triptease’s external auditors. Lead the Financial Controller to produce annual statutory financial statements. Lead the Financial Controller to deliver improvements and create efficiencies within the overall financial control environment. Ensure Triptease operates appropriately within its applicable regulatory framework, including adherence to international taxation requirements. Administer the Employee Options Scheme regionally. Partnering with People Team and external counsel on plan changes and employee communications. Oversee Company Secretarial activity: statutory registers, Companies House filings, share allotments and shareholder communications. Maintain a clean, audit‑ready cap table. Support the CFO with ad hoc analysis and reporting requested by Triptease’s investors.

Team Leadership & Development

Coach and develop the wider team of 11; create clear career paths and a high‑feedback culture. Be a natural delegator. Trust your team, set clear outcomes, and unblock rather than micromanage. Communicate clearly and confidently with the CFO, exec, auditors, advisors and external partners. Bring the team along on the change journey. Helping people grow as systems and processes evolve.

What Success Looks Like in 6-9 months

A finance systems roadmap delivered against, with two major migrations or automations live and embedded. A faster, cleaner monthly close across all entities, with materially less manual work. A finance team that is engaged, developing and trusted across the wider business.

About You

Essential skills:

  • Qualified Accountant (ACCA / CIMA / ACA or equivalent).
  • Passionate about how AI can be used to automate processes and drive efficiencies.
  • Experienced in a senior finance role (Head of, VP, FD or equivalent) within a global SaaS businesses.
  • Experienced in leading the year‑end audit from planning to completion.
  • Team management experience, with a genuine passion for developing people.
  • Experienced in a pan‑global, fast‑moving business — ideally including running US accounting / compliance within a group structure.
  • Hands‑on experience with finance systems migrations and automation projects (ERP, billing, AR/AP, expenses).
  • Excellent communicator, a natural delegator who builds trust through clarity, not control.
  • Positive, proactive, “can‑do” attitude and an incredible work ethic.

Desired but not essential:

  • Direct experience administering an Employee Share / Options Scheme (EMI, unapproved options, RSUs, etc.).
  • Company Secretarial experience — statutory filings, board minutes, share allotments, cap table management.
  • Ability to work under pressure to meet often challenging deadlines.
  • Natural problem solver, self‑driven and objective‑based.
