Nottingham is seeking a passionate and skilled Team Manager to lead our Multi-Agency Safeguarding Hub (MASH) – a fast-paced, high-impact service at the very heart of safeguarding children and families in our city. You’ll be part of a highly skilled, supportive, and driven management team, united by a shared commitment to protecting children and supporting families.
About the role
We are looking for an experienced and dynamic Team Manager to lead our Children’s MASH (Multi-Agency Safeguarding Hub) Team. This is an exciting opportunity to oversee a fast-paced, multi-agency environment where you’ll be at the forefront of safeguarding and protecting vulnerable children. You will provide strong leadership and supervision to a team of Social Workers and support staff, ensuring that all referrals are screened, prioritised, and progressed efficiently and in line with statutory requirements.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Leading with Impact: Guide a team of dedicated Social Workers who respond to concerns at the earliest opportunity, ensuring children receive the protection and support they need.
- Driving Collaboration: Work closely with partners across health, police, education, and other agencies to make timely, informed decisions.
- Fostering Growth: Provide regular supervision, reflective practice, and a strong focus on professional development.
- Championing Excellence: Shape good practice, drive performance, and keep children at the centre of every decision.
Your Role as MASH Team Manager
- Oversee the triage and assessment of safeguarding referrals.
- Ensure decisions are timely, proportionate, and always child-focused.
- Develop your team’s confidence and capability through coaching, supervision, and performance management.
- Collaborate with senior leaders and partners to continuously improve service delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the daily operations of the Children’s MASH team.
- Ensure timely and effective decision‑making regarding safeguarding referrals.
- Coordinate multi-agency partnership working, ensuring consistent information‑sharing and risk analysis.
- Provide professional supervision, guidance, and support to staff.
- Monitor performance, quality assurance, and compliance with local and national safeguarding procedures.
