About The Role

Are you an experienced Team Manager with a strong background in fostering services? We are seeking an exceptional leader to manage our Fostering Support & Supervision Team, providing strategic and operational leadership to a dedicated team of Supervising Social Workers. This is an exciting opportunity to play a pivotal role in delivering high-quality fostering services, ensuring foster carers receive the support, supervision and guidance they need to provide safe, stable and nurturing homes for children and young people.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic and operational leadership to the Fostering Support & Supervision Team.
  • Manage, supervise and support a team of Supervising Social Workers, promoting high-quality practice and professional development.
  • Ensure foster carers receive effective supervision, guidance, training and ongoing support.
  • Oversee workload allocation, case management and service delivery to ensure statutory responsibilities and performance targets are met.
  • Promote excellent safeguarding practice, ensuring the welfare of children remains central to all decision-making.
  • Lead on quality assurance, auditing and performance monitoring to ensure compliance with fostering regulations, legislation and best practice.
  • Identify areas for service improvement and implement effective action plans to drive continuous improvement.
  • Contribute to the strategic development of fostering services and support service transformation initiatives.
  • Build effective working relationships with internal teams, partner agencies and external stakeholders.
  • Manage staffing, recruitment, performance management and workforce development.
  • Ensure the effective management of financial, physical and human resources, delivering efficient, high-quality services.
  • Champion equality, diversity, inclusion and anti-discriminatory practice throughout the service.
