Children with Disabilities Social Worker London Borough of Barnet Up to Β£37 per hour The Role Barnet Council is looking for a passionate and resilient Social Worker to join our Children with Disabilities Team. This specialized service focuses heavily on supporting children and young people with Autism, ensuring they receive tailored support to thrive within their communities. You will be part of a team that prioritizes relationship-based practice, helping families navigate the unique challenges associated with neurodiversity and complex needs. Key Responsibilities * Carrying a specialized caseload of children with physical and learning disabilities, with a focus on Autism. * Conducting holistic assessments that focus on the child’s strengths and long-term outcomes. * Developing and monitoring care packages and support plans. * Collaborating with health and education partners to ensure integrated care. * While the focus is on disability, you will manage cases involving Child Protection (CP) and Court work where necessary. Requirements * Experience: Previous experience within a CWD team or a strong background in Autism-specific support. * Legal Skills: Prior experience with CP procedures and Court work is highly advantageous. * Communication: Ability to use adaptive communication methods for non-verbal or neurodivergent children. * Registration: Active Social Work England registration and a recognized social work qualification.
